Mental Attitude: Impaired Sense of Smell an Early Sign for Cognitive Decline. 
Among a group of 2,640 seniors, researchers observed a relationship between an impaired sense of smell and worse performance on cognitive assessments. Based on the findings, the research team suggests that sense of smell may serve as a marker to improve identification of those at high risk for cognitive decline and dementia.
