A common cause of hip pain: Loss in hip range of motion.
A common reason why people have hip pain is because slowly they have been losing the mobility of the hip joint. This happens when the hip joint isn’t used through a complete range of motion for an extended period of time. We see this quite often in people who sit for long periods at a desk or in a car. Watch this quick video to see how to test for the proper range of motion.
What to do if you have a loss in range of motion.
These are two of my favorite routines for hip mobilization.
These are both great stretches for the hip joint. Each stretch should be done for at least 2 minutes and up to 6. Do Not do this stretch if your hip has been replaced!
