Our sciatica treatment program handles these symptoms:
“Tooth ache” feeling in the buttocks
Pain on the side of the leg that travels down to the side of the knee
Pain that feels fine standing but hurts with sitting, especially driving.
Leg pain that starts after walking for a bit.
Numbness or “pins and needles” in the calf and or foot
Pain that feels better when you lie down or are walking, but worsens when standing or sitting
Constant pain in only one side of the buttock or leg, but rarely in both sides.
Pain that originates in the low back or buttock and continues along the path of the sciatic nerve—down the back of the thigh and into the lower leg and foot.
We use a multi treatment approach when helping people with sciatica. We first determine what the problem is and then depending on what is causing the sciatica, we use soft tissue work, chiropractic adjustments to the spine and SI joints, mobilization and exercise. Sometimes we use just one of these and other times we use them all. The important part is finding the underlying cause. The problem can be from one of the many problems that can cause sciatica. It can be coming from the spine, Glute muscle, TFL, Hip Joint or Psoas muscle. Maybe there is a disc herniation. Or maybe the pelvis isn’t moving the way it should. Most people have some combination of these and that is why it really takes someone with experience to figure it out. My wife and I have over 20 years each in experience and have successfully helped hundreds of people with sciatica. From Crossfit athletes, Pregnant women to people who sit at a desk all day and don’t exercise at all, we’ve seen many different types of cases. Have we helped them all, no, but we have helped most.
