A new study published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology has found the healthiest way to brew a cup of coffee. It appears drinking filtered coffee is the healthiest. Sorry French press people. It’s not that drinking unfiltered coffee is worse for you, its that you don’t get the health benefits when it is filtered. The study found people who drank filtered coffee had a 15% lower risk of death from any cause compared to those who didn’t drink coffee and those who drank it unfiltered. As for cardiovascular disease men who drank filtered coffee had a 12% less chance and women a 20% decrease The study looked at over 500,000 people for almost 20 years.
